Ep 25 How to Harness the Law of Attraction (Without the Fluff)

Sep 13, 2025

You’ve likely heard of the Law of Attraction, the idea that your thoughts, feelings and intentions can shape the life you live. But if you’re facing the quiet, identity-shifting season of midlife, especially after children leave home, you might be wondering: Can this actually help me now?

The answer is yes, when approached with grounded intention, not just wishful thinking.

At its heart, the Law of Attraction is about focusing your energy. And for women navigating loss, reinvention and rediscovery, learning to redirect your focus can be a powerful tool for healing and growth.

What Is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction is the belief that what you focus on through thoughts, beliefs, emotions and energy,  you draw more of into your life. In simple terms: like attracts like.

It teaches that your inner world (thoughts, beliefs, emotions) shapes your outer world (relationships, opportunities, challenges). The idea isn’t to deny difficulties, but to consciously choose where you place your attention and trust that energy creates momentum.

Core Principles (And How They Actually Work)

Here’s how the Law of Attraction works in practice, without the pressure of perfection:

1. Energy Follows Thought

Your thoughts and emotions carry energy. When you consistently think something (e.g. I’m not enough or This chapter can be beautiful), you create a vibrational frequency, one that either expands or restricts your life.

2. You Attract What You Focus On

Where your attention goes, your energy flows. If you’re constantly scanning for what’s lacking, you’ll likely feel more of that. If you begin noticing what’s working, even gently, you create space for more of it.

3. Clarity Matters

Vague desires lead to vague results. The more clearly you define what you want in your relationships, wellbeing or next chapter, the more your energy aligns with it.

4. Visualisation Helps Anchor Your Belief

Imagining your desired future, with emotion and detail, strengthens belief and motivation. It’s not about pretending, it’s about rehearsing the life you’re ready to create.

5. Gratitude Shifts the Frequency

When you actively appreciate what’s good in your life (even small things), you shift your mindset from scarcity to abundance which attracts more of what you value.

6. Inspired Action Bridges the Gap

This isn’t about dreaming on the sofa. Manifestation works when you act on the nudges. See an opportunity? Say yes. Want change? Take one small, brave step.

7. Let Go of the How

Detachment means trusting that life may unfold differently than you expect, but often better. Obsessing over when and how creates resistance. Trust the timing.

8. Align Your Mind, Heart and Habits

What you believe, feel and do all matter. True alignment comes when your inner world (thoughts + emotions) supports your outer choices and actions.

How to Start Using the Law of Attraction (Gently)

You don’t need to overhaul your life overnight. Start here:

  1. Get clear on what you want – Choose one area of your life that feels out of sync. What would feeling good in this area look like?

  2. Visualise it daily – Just 3 minutes. Picture the life you want as if it’s already yours.

  3. Feel the feelings now – Embody the emotion: calm, joy, confidence, love. Let yourself feel it before it’s “real.”

  4. Say thank you often – List 3 things each day that you genuinely appreciate. Let that energy expand.

  5. Take the next right step – You don’t need the whole plan. Just act on the next aligned nudge.

  6. Release the outcome – Focus on the feeling, not the form. Trust that what’s meant for you will unfold.

In our course, The Silent Grief of Motherhood, we explore how belief systems, emotional focus and visualisation can support your reinvention journey after loss, transition or identity shifts. It’s not about bypassing the hard, it’s about creating space for what’s possible beyond it.

You Are Always Attracting, So Start Choosing

The Law of Attraction isn’t about pretending everything’s perfect. It’s about remembering you’re a co-creator of your life, even when things feel uncertain.

You can attract peace after chaos. You can attract clarity after confusion. You can attract joy, love, connection and meaning, simply by shifting how you see yourself and your future.

Start today by getting intentional with your thoughts, your attention and your energy.

You don’t need to force it. Just focus. Feel. Act. Trust.

You are worthy of the life you imagine.
